Allahabad High Court issues notices in mass sterilization case
Allahabad: The Allahabad High Court has asked Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Jaunpur to file counter affidavit in alleged mass sterilization of women at Primary Health Center Madiahu, Jaunpur.
The Bench comprising Chief Justice Dr DY Chandrachud and Justice Yashwant Varma passed the above order on Tuesday while hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by law students of Allahabad University.
It was alleged in the petition that single doctor had done sterilization of 55 women in a day without proper medical facilities.
The Court has directed to list the PIL for hearing after 3 weeks.
