Allahabad HC issues directions for civil flights at Bamrauli

Allahabad: The intervention of Allahabad High Court on Tuesday brightened the prospects of more civil flights from Bamrauli airport, looked after by the Indian Air Force.

The Court directed Airport Authority of India (AAI) to install Instrumental Landing System (ILS) at Bamrauli airport and Air Force to grant permissions for it. This will clear functioning of civil airport for functioning of flights at Bamrauli.

The Bench comprising chief justice Dr DY Chandrachud and Justice Yashwant Varma passed the above order while hearing a Public Interest Litigation filed by Ajay Kumar Mishra. The Bench has directed the AAI to do the survey for installation of ILS at Bamrauli airport within 10 days and report the same to the Court.

Further, AAI is directed to complete the civil and electrical works for installation of ILS, thereafter.
