Lucknow: The Lucknow bench of high court on Tuesday dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed against the appointment of Uttar Pradesh Advocate General Raghvendra Singh.

Dismissing the petition, a division bench comprised of Justice V K Shukla and Justice D K Upadhyay, also imposed Rs 50 thousand cost upon the petitioner for filing frivolous PIL for cheap popularity.

The PIL was filed by an advocate Suresh Gupta. He had demanded that the state government should have framed the rules before appointing AG.
