Allahabad: The Allahabad High Court on Monday dismissed a petition filed by PCS officer, Bhagwat Sagar Ojha who had challenged summoning order issued by CBI Court Ghaziabad in a corruption case.

It was alleged that Ojha while working as Special land acquisition officer in gas Authority of India, Noida had indulged in corrupt practices and amassed huge illegal money. The CBI had recovered several crores of rupees from his residence at Allahabad and bank lockers.

Dismissing the petition filed by Ojha, a division bench comprising Justice Ramesh Sinha and justice VK Srivastava directed him to appear before the CBI Court Ghaziabad and move an application for bail, which would be decided by CBI Court Ghaziabad.

Opposing the petition, CBI counsel contended that an officer was caught red handed while taking bribes and on who’s pointing huge undeclared money was recovered from house of petitioner. He further contended that petitioner was appointed as Naib Tehasildar and thereafter promoted as PCS officer and used his influence to become special land acquisition officer, Noida and acquired huge illegal money.

After investigation CBI has obtained sufficient evidence against him and filed charge sheet. Hence, Special Court CBI Ghaziabad issued summons to petitioner.
