Allahabad: The Allahabad Districts Magistrate Sanjay Kumar on Friday met tour operators in France and Europe to give presentation of the upcoming Magh Mela, held every year on the banks of Triveni Sangam where the holy rivers of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati confluence in Prayag, near Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh.

During the presentation, Mr Sanjay said, "In a bid to uphold Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat mission, we have recruited 177 teams (each having 12 men) of sweepers."

"14 sanitation units and 110 waste pits have also been installed, apart from deployment of 12 boats for collecting the floating garbage near bathing ghats," he added in his presentation.

It may be mentioned that the Allahabad DM is in Paris to woo the European visitors to the religious festival, which is also regarded as the 'Mini Kumbh Mela'.
