A mentally unstable teen sexually assaulted by Youth

Fatehpur: A youth allegedly tried to rape a mentally unstable teenage girl in a village in Aung area. Police gave the information of this incident. The incident took place when the girl, about 14-years-old, was alone in her house and the youth who had come to attend a marriage in the village allegedly tried to rape her, police said.

When the girl started shouting, villagers nabbed the accused and beat him but he managed to flee.

An FIR was lodged in this connection on Tuesday night and the police is probing the matter. The girl has been sent for medical examination and the report is awaited, the police said.

Why Girls are not safe in our society?

This is not the first case where a girl been assaulted by someone. In schools, at public places and even at their home no one is safe. For these cases POCSO act was made. POCSO, The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) 2012 was established to protect the children against offences like sexual abuse, sexual harassment and pornography.

Just two days ago accused of law student who is a famous personality, was a former union minister got bail. Here we are talking about Swami Chinmayanand, whose trust runs the Shahjahanpur law college where the woman studied, was arrested on September 20 under section 376-C of the IPC, a charge short of rape. It is applied when someone in authority takes advantage of his official position to “induce or seduce” a woman to have sex with him.
