Shameful! Woman raped, rod inserted in her private part in West Bengal

Jalpaiguri: It has been only three days passed to Durga Puja and yet another Goddess was raped.

In a country where we worship women, a girl in Jalpaiguri area was raped. The brutality did not stop here, an iron rod was also inserted inside her private part.

The incident took place on Saturday evening, when the victim was raped by a relative near a pond close to her home in Niranjan Pat locality under Dhupguri police station area.

The woman has been admitted to hospital where the doctors stated that her condition is critical.

The incident:

• Accused called the woman out of her house in the absence of her husband on the pretext of resolving the land issue.
• As soon as she reached the spot, accused raped and tortured her by inserting an iron rod.
• The victim also alleged that the accused was accompanied by a man who did not rape her.

According to the police, the relative (accused) and his companion was detained and being interrogated.
