Red-chilli powder was pushed into her private parts: UP Police

Lakhimpur Kheri: In an atrocious act, a 60-year-old woman was stripped and tortured after her son allegedly eloped with a girl at a village in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday.

“The victim’s face was blackened and red-chilli powder was pushed into her private parts as a punishment,” said the police.

“The woman was assaulted by the family members of the girl with whom her son had run away on Sunday last,” said Akhilesh Chaurasia, a senior police officer.

Highlights:

• Both the families belong to the same village.
• The woman was rescued by other villagers when her husband raised an alarm and called for help.
• First Information Report has been filed against five persons, including four women, who are absconding.
