UP govt to organise special events on Independence Day in Lko

Lucknow: In a good news for Lucknowites, some special additional events will be organised during this year’s ‘Independence Day’ celebrations for the first time at the National Flag Point in Janeshwar Mishra Park of the state capital.

The Uttar Pradesh government will organise open competitions of painting and slogans themed on nationalism, patriotism and communal harmony.

Winners, in each category, will be awarded with Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 for 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd prizes respectively. The winners will also receive certificates of appreciation.

Other highlights:

• The government is also planning to screen newly released movies based on patriotism in major malls and multiplexes of the city.
• The entry will be free for all on the ‘first come, first serve’ basis.
• Rest of the standard events will be organised the same way like every year.
