Mumbai: A major fire broke out at military ammunition depot in Wardha district of Maharashtra in the wee hours on Tuesday in which 20 persons including two officers were burnt alive and 129 others injured.

  • Two officers and 18 jawans were killed in Pulgaon Depot.
  • The injured officers have been rushed to the nearby hospital.
  • According to locals, fire triggered off after after an explosion.
  • The fire at the ammunition dump is reported to have spread after secondary explosion.
  • The death toll is feared to increase.
  • Several villages in the vicinity have been evacuated.
  • The situation has been brought under control as the fire tenders were rushed to the spot .
