Surat: Hardik Patel-led Patidar community on Tuesday night allegedly set to buses on fire in Hirabagh Chowk area here. They damaged the public and private properties after more than 15 members of their community were arrested for disrupting a Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha (BJPYM) event.

The situation in the city remains tense after the incident.

After the arrest, the Patidar reservation agitation leader Hardik Patel sent out a threatening tweet demanding the immediate release of the arrested youth.

"If the youth aren't released at the earliest, then Gujarat will witness a revolution," Patel said in a tweet posted in Gujarati.
