Mohali: In a shocking incident, senior journalist KJ Singh and his 92-year-old mother were found dead in Mohali on Saturday.

Singh was found with his throat slit with a sharp-edged weapon while his mother was allegedly choked to death.

The journalist's house was ransacked and some things were also missing, the police confirmed.

Coming across the incident, Mohali SSP immediately rushed to the crime spot. Prima facia, the police found it to be a murder. "There was injury marks on their necks," Mohali Deputy Superintendent of PoliceAlam Vijay Singh said.

It is worth mentioning that Singh embarked on his journalism career with The Indian Express, and after a brief stint with the Times Group, he worked with The Tribune.

Currently, Singh, however, wasn’t working with any media organisation.

The police is yet to find out if it was just a case of burglary of it was a pre-meditated murder for some reason.

Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal immediately took to Twitter to condemn the murder and appealing the administration to quickly nab the perpetrators.
