New Delhi: Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar will pay a visit to Brazil as he has been invited by President of International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach to be a spectator at the Rio Olympics games.

Master Blaster, who is a goodwill ambassador to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), will leave for Rio de Janeiro on August 2.

Sachin is going to visit the Rio Olympics games for the very first time. Furthermore, he will be meeting the Indian contingent to wish them luck during his visit,” said a source close to him.

Other highlights:

  • According to sources, Sachin lately visited a government hospital and got a yellow fever vaccination which is mandatory for visiting countries like Brazil.
  • It may be mentioned that Sachin’s Rio trip comes amid speculation that cricket could be a part of the 2024 Olympics games roster.
