Rampur: Senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan on Tuesday ridiculed the BJP-led state government for not mentioning Taj Mahal as a tourist destination in the booklet issued by the tourism department.

"Taj Mahal is the symbol of slavery. It should be demolished. I will give full support to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath if he decides to dismantle it," said the former UP minister in a taunt to the state government.

It is worth mentioning that the Uttar Pradesh government has been under fire for not mentioning Taj Mahal as a tourist destination in a booklet issued by the tourism department on Monday.

He did not stop here in mocking the Yogi government as he further said, "Not only Taj Mahal, but Delhi's Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Agra Fort, Parliament and Rashtrapati Bhavan are also the symbols of slavery. They should also be demolished. Starting with Taj Mahal is a good beginning."

He further slammed the state's ruling body by saying that he regretted not being able to help in demolishing the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya as it was the house of Allah, but he would surely want to help the administration in bringing the Taj Mahal to ashes as it is a tomb and is also a symbol of slavery.
