Rahul Gandhi leaves for London to ring in New Year!

New Delhi: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, who has been working really hard to lead the Opposition's protest against demonetisation, has reportedly left for abroad to ring in the New Year.

During the 50-day deadline for exchanging the scrapped currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000, which ended on December 30, Rahul Gandhi remained in the headlines for his direct attacks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over note ban.

Apparently, the back to back rallies in poll bound states of the country have left the Congress scion very tired and that is why he decided to leave for a foreign visit.

According to the media reports, Gandhi left for London on December 28 in a Jet Airways flight (9W122) and is expected to return after at least a week.

A few reports also show that an Air India flight (AI-111) was also booked on December 29.

The Congress party, however, is denying all such reports saying that he is not on any foreign visit but may leave for one after the New Year.

Earlier in 2015, Rahul Gandhi had drawn lots of criticism for a two-month long surprise sabbatical during which his location and status was unknown to almost everyone.

On December 28 2015, Rahul had tweeted about his foreign trip to ring in the New Year. "I will be travelling to Europe for a few days. A very Happy New Year to everyone," he had tweeted.

During past one month, Rahul has kept on attacking the Centre over demonetisation tagging it as the biggest scam in the history of India. Congress party even did not let the Parliament function throughout the Winter Session leading to a complete washout.
