Lucknow: Almost every other person around the globe is well aware about the demon of Hindu mythology, 'Raavan'. This ten head monster was believed to have special powers with the help of which he could change into any form he wished. Being a great devotee or 'bhakt' of Lord Shiva, Raavan was invincible.

This demon-king was granted a blessing through which he could not be defeated by any Dev, animal or monsters but human. For the same, Ram, seventh incarnation of God Vishnu, took birth on earth as human and shot an arrow in the belly-button of Raavan causing death.

However, in Ramaayan, there is no such evidence as to what happened to the body of the deceased demon. In Sri Lanka, there are various spots that were present during the Ramaayan.

According to a research, 50 such sites have been found in Sri Lanka, which are directly related to Ramayana. Through this research, it has been revealed that there is a huge hill in the middle of the forests of Ragla. There is a cave on the huge hill, which is called the cave of Raavan. This is the cave where Raavan attained powers by doing penance. It is said that even today the body of demon Raj Raavan is safe in this cave.

Raavana's gold Lanka has also been found in present-day Sri Lanka. This discovery has been done by the International Ramayana Research Center of Sri Lanka and the Ministry of Tourism. The body of Raavan was handed over to Vibhishan. There is no information about what happened to his body. No one knows whether he was cremated or not.

According to some sources, Raavan's body is placed in a 17-foot long coffin. Not only this, the coffin in which the corpse of Raavan has been kept, is covered with a special kind of coating due to which it is still safe.
