New Delhi: It's a Christmas month and the Pokémon Go developers have turned out to be the Santa Claus for Indian children by launching the game in the country.

After five months of its official launch, the developer Niantic group has announced its launch in South Asia. The users in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan, Srilanka and Bangladesh can download the game from Google Play Store or Apple's App store.

The Niantic team has also collaborated with Reliance Jio. According to the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Niantic John Hanke, "We are delighted to partner with Reliance Jio to launch Pokémon Go in India. It is exciting to see Pokémon fans in India. Jio's high speed 4G LTE Network will be an excellent way to experience the game."

The extremely popular game was launched on July 7 across the globe but failed to launch in South Asian countries.

The craze of Pokémon Go had reached to such heights that people were downloading it in India by changing their country details but, now they would be authorised to play the game without any difficulty.

The game is based on the most popular TV Show Pokémon.
