Pak’s PM Nawaz Sharif to undergo open-heart surgery in London

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will undergo an open-heart surgery in a hospital of London on Tuesday, confirmed Defence Minister of the country Khawaja Asif.

“British doctors have advised the Prime Minister to undergo an open heart surgery. He is currently admitted to a hospital in London and is expected to stay there for a week, till the doctors allow him to travel,” said Asif.

Sharif’s daughter, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, took to micro blogging site Twitter to inform about his surgery:

Perforation of heart which was in turn treated by open heart surgery. The PM for this reason had been visiting his doctor for the follow up.
