Lucknow: Former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Swami Prasad Maurya on Saturday revealed that ex-Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati believed in making her dalit vote bank stronger by not doing anything for them.

In an exclusive interview with newztrack.com, Maurya revealed many things:

Newztrack: BSP chief Mayawati calls herself a ‘Devi’, what is your stand on this issue?

Maurya: This is the arrogance of Mayawati. Self praise has no recommendation.

Newztrack: Why does she say that Dalit preach her like a goddess?

Maurya: Then why Dalits are not getting prosperous? It is the greatness of Dalits that they are preaching Mayawati but what has she done for their betterment? She believes in shedding crocodile tears and treats them like a garbage.

Newztrack: How can you claim this?

Maurya: Lakhs of women have been raped, gangraped and murdered in the last four years but did you ever see BSP protesting for them. Where was Mayawati then?

Newztrack: What did you do, you were in BSP then?

Maurya: I had asked her for protesting against the atrocities on Dalits. I even asked Naseemuddin Siddiqui but he never paid any heed to my requests. Behenji once told me that the more a Dalit will suffer from atrocities the stronger will be our vote bank.

Newztrack: Is it true that Mayawati sells ticket?

Maurya: Nothing is done in BSP without money. Not even senior leaders and workers get party ticket without paying any hefty amount to Mayawati. The minimum cost of a ticket is Rs 1.5 crores while the cost of ticket for contesting the Panchayat election ranges between Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.

Newztrack: What would you call the new coordinator of BSP?

Maurya: Nothing but a collection agent. He follows the orders of his superiors and completes his targets. He has nothing to do with the betterment of Dalits.

Newztrack: BSP amassed a good footfall for the protest.

Maurya: They were not party cadre but they were ticket seekers and all such aspirant came along with his supporters.

Newztrack: What is your stand on the recent derogatory comment incidents?

Maurya: An abuse is an abuse, it has no place in democracy. The incident is highly deplorable no matter abuses are hurled on BSP chief Mayawati or the wife and daughter of Dayashankar Singh. There is no place for such things in our society.
