Latest IS video has 11 Indians, including two from Maharashtra

New Delhi: Islamic State of Iraq and Syria’s (ISIS’s) latest propaganda video, that was circulated online last week, featured at least 11 Indians, confirmed a senior government official.

The 22-minute-long Arabic video – The Land of Hind: Between Pain and Hope – was distributed on web based applications and social media platforms on May 19 last.

One of the terror group’s members featured in the video has been identified as Haja Fakkruddin Usman Ali from Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu. Haja and his family became Singapore citizens six years ago.

Another person in the video has been identified as Gul Mohamed Maracachi Maraicar and he is also from Cuddalore, having said to be the chief recruiter of ISIS.

Highlights:

A senior government official said the video was recorded at least ten months ago.

Two persons in the video were identified as Bada Sajid and Abu Rashid, both former India Mujahideen members from Azamgarh district of UP.

Another two were identified as Fahad Sheikh and Amand Tandel from Thane district of Maharashtra.
