Landslide in Srilanka, several missing
Colombo: Around 100 people are still missing owing to a landslide in Sri Lanka last week.
The rescue authorities said on Saturday that there would not be any chance of life under the debris.
- A number of 67 bodies had been recovered from the worst hit central district of Kegalle.
- Around 99 people were still listed as missing following the rain-triggered May 17 disaster.
- Heavy rains also triggered floods across much of the country last week and claimed 37 lives in addition to those killed in the landslides, an official statement said.
Sri Lanka has received emergency aid India which dispatched two naval ships and an aircraft loaded with supplies.
