Kanpur: The one and a half year old girl, Khushi, who fell into a bore-well being dug by the Kanpur Development Authorities (KDA), could not survive after being rescued by the teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Indian Army on Sunday.

Khushi fell down in a bore-well on Sunday morning, while she was playing at the Roadways Complex under Nawabganj police station in Kanpur city of Uttar Pradesh.

The police reached the spot as soon as they were informed about the incident by the onlookers and later, they called the rescue teams. After 11 hours of joint rescue operation by the NDRF and Army, she was taken out from the bore-well in an unconscious state and was rushed to the hospital.

Doctors attending her tried to resuscitate her but failed. “She died about three hours ago,” said a doctor.
