Kedarnath Dham( Uttarakhand ): The temple of Kedarnath Dham, one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimages in Uttarakhand, has been closed amid chanting of vedic hymns by a team of priest on Tuesday.

The temple will remain closed during winters for about six months to be reopened on the auspicious occasion of 'Akshay Tritiya' on April 28. The Muhurat for the same will be decided on Mahashivratri day on February 24, Shiv Shankar the main priest of Kedarnath Dham told Newstrack.com.

The main deity has been brought in a 'doli' to be kept at Ukhimath till then.
