Karnataka Results: BJP appeals Governor to let them prove majority

Bengaluru: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa announced on Tuesday evening that he had urged Governor Vajubhai Vala to let him prove majority support in the Karnataka Assembly.

Yeddyurappa made the comments to the media after calling on the Governor along with party leader and Union Minister Ananth Kumar after results from Saturday's Assembly election threw up a split verdict.

In the Karnataka Assembly election results announced on Tuesday, BJP has emerged as the single largest party with 104 seats while Congress secured 78 and JD(S) managed 38 seats in t he 222-member Assembly.
