Beijing: Soon after India formally became a member of the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR), the editorial of state-run ‘Global Times’ on Monday dubbed Indians as ‘self-centred’ and ‘self-righteous’ people. It also said the citizens of India lack morality.

It may be recalled that China was not allowed entry to MTCR owing to its dodgy proliferation record.

The entire editorial has apparently slandered Indians, calling them the kind of people who don’t understand nationalism, have no morals, blindly follow the west and are completely spoilt.

Other highlights:

  • The editorial talks about India’s failure to become a member of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG).
  • The Indian media as well as the government blamed China’s opposition for this failure.
  • United States, Canada, France and several other countries had backed India’s membership to NSG.
