Lucknow: The firebrand Hindu leader and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament Ajay Singh turned 44 on Sunday.

Ajay Singh? Yeah, you heard that right, very few of us know that the real name of Yogi Adityanath, is Ajay Singh and he got this name from his teacher Mahat Avaidyanath.

In fact, there would be nothing wrong in dubbing him as the Donald Trump of Uttar Pradesh.

Fact factory:

  • Yogi Adityanath, whose actual name is Ajay Singh, was born on June 5, 1972 in Uttarakhand.
  • He completed B.Sc from Garhwal University.
  • He is a monk of famous Gorakhnath temple.
  • Bhartiya Janata PartyMP is also a founder of Hindu Yuva Vahini, which is a social, cultural and nationalist group of Hindus.
  • Avaidyanath retired from politics in 1998 and declared Adityanath as his successor.
  • Adiyanath began a political career from here.
  • When Yogi had won in the 12thLok Sabha elections, he was the youngest MP from Gorakhpur.
  • At the age of 26 years, he became MP and since 1988 he is representing Gorakhpur.

The five times MP

  • Yogi had been considered as a big name in UP BJP and is continuing his grace as he was named MP in 2014 for the fifth time.
  • After getting himself in the comfort zone in politics, Adityanath also took the second path and formed Hindu Yuva Vahini after launching a campaign against religious conversion.Yogi’s strength has been increased by being involved in controversies.
  • In 2007 Gorakhpur riots, he was the main accused.
  • Several criminal cases were filed against Yogi.

Yogi’s dominace in Bhartiya Janata Party-

  • Yogi is a dominating character in BJP as even after his back to back controversial remarks, he is enjoying a respectful position.
  • During a campaign for the general elections, a helicopter was provided to the BJP MP.

Narrowly saved in an attack in 2008-

  • Yogi faced a violent attack in Azamgarh on September 7, 2008.
  • The attack was dangerous as more than hundred vehicles cordoned him.
