Srinagar: At least eight Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officials were killed and 24 others were injured on Saturday after suspected terrorists attacked their bus on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The attack took place 14 km from Srinagar in which two terrorists were also killed.

According to Inspector General of CRPF Nalin Prabhat, the militants may have belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba group from Pakistan.

Previously, a similar attack took place on a bus carrying BSF personnel on June 3 and three of them were killed in the attack.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed grief over the death of CRPF personnel on micro blogging site Twitter.
