New Delhi: Indian sprinter Dutee Chand has booked berth in the Rio Olympics after finishing 100 metres in just 11.30 seconds in Almaty of Kazakhstan on Saturday.

To qualify for the Olympics, Dutee was required to complete the sprint before 11.32 seconds and she gave her best to secure a place in Rio Olympics.

Earlier, Dutee missed this opportunity by a whisker during the Federation Cup National Athletics meet held in New Delhi in April last.

She becomes the first woman after PT Usha to qualify for the 100 metres.

Chandra is now the 99th Indian athlete to book her berth for the coming Olympic event.
