DGCA bans use of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on planes  

New Delhi: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Friday banned the use of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 while travelling via flights.

"In light of the recent incidents involving battery incidents with Samsung about its Galaxy Note 7 devices globally, traveling public and airlines are advised not to switch on these mobiles during the flight or store them in any checked in baggage," said DGCA in an issued order.

In a public notice, DGCA said that passengers could carry Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones only in switch off mode or in cabin baggage.

Following the reports of explosion of Galaxy Note 7 batteries, Japanese aviation authorities and US counterparts had prohibited the use of such smartphones o board aircraft.

More than 35 cases of Galaxy Note 7 blasting have come since its launch on August 19.

It could be mentioned here, South Korean company Samsung is one of the best smartphone maker with millions customers globally.
