Nagar Haveli: A very-very funny situation was likely to be faced by the employees of the government departments of Daman and Diu, following a circular bounding the female staffers to tie Rakhi to their male colleagues. The diktat, however, has been withdrawn a day later on Wednesday.

In a shocking decree, issued by Deputy Secretary (Pers.) Gurpreet Singh, all the staff members of the government departments across the Union Territory were ordered to be present in the office on Raksha Bandhan, i.e. August 7, and the female employees would have to tie Rakhi to their male colleagues.

The circular, however, was issued on the pretext of celebration of the festival collectively, but the decree was likely to create a very embarrassing situation for the husbands-wives and boyfriends-girlfriends who would be working together in the same office.

Not only this but the circular, issued on Tuesday, had also directed the departments to furnish the attendance report of the day by 5 pm on August 8.

This circular had become the talk of the town and the bureaucratic circles of Daman and Diu which apparently prompted the administration to withdraw the order.
