Corrupt politician exploits the family of a rape victim in Agra
Agra: The Taj city, in a recent incident, witnessed corrupt face of politicians, who in the name of protest took money from the family of a gang rape victim.
The victim's father claimed that Premchand Kushwaha, a Bhartiya Janta Party leader along with another person named Haribabu Kushwaha, collected Rs 29,000 for arranging a protest march for his daughter who committed suicide after being brutalised by three unknown men.
The incident:
- The incident took place in Vinayaknagar area of the city.
- Daughter of a local resident Ramesh (name changed) was brutalised by three men and committed suicide thereafter.
- Agra police took two convicts into custody but the third one succeeded to run away.
Family trapped by politicians:
- Victim's father claimed that he gave the money to Haribabu Kushwaha who said that they will protest to get justice for his daughter.
- He said that they demanded for Rs 35,000. Ramesh gave Rs 29,000 to the politician.
- The leader told the victim's father that he will ask protesters from Fatehpur Sikri, Kheragadh, Fatehbad and other villages to join them for the protest rally.
- Ramesh stated that when nothing was being done he asked the leaders to return him the money refused to do so and threatened to kill him.
- Ramesh said, "They took my wife's and my signature on a ten rupees stamp paper and our passport size photographs."
- When the girl's father asked the leaders about the money and the protest they threatened to kill him and to project him in a false case.
