Bahraich: Under 'Operation Muskaan' 13 children in 6-14 age group who were working as laborers were rescued from Payagpur area of Bahraich on Tuesday. The operation was launched by three Police officers ,Devanand Rajak, Anil Yadav and Satish Kumar Dixit.

The hotel which had employed them were warned against the practice of Child labor. Later, the children were handed over to their parents. There parents were also counselled to encourage their wards to study and enroll them in schools.

The rescued children were Virendra, Bechu, Suraj, Gulshan, Sundar, Shivam, Fakire including five others.

What is operation Muskaan?

Under this programme, specially trained police teams were set up to rescue children from railway platforms, bus stands, roads and religious places.
