Mumbai: Bollywood celebrities took to micro blogging sites to raise their voice against the incident that took place on Monday in Mussorie, where Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) MLA Ganesh Joshi hit hard a police horse named ‘Shaktimaan’.

Veteran actor Hema Malini along with the image of the injured horse tweeted, "I can’t believe anyone can do this to an innocent animal! It’s inhuman and should be condemned. Thank God it has survived!” She added, "I’m told there is no need for amputation. This was a real danger for the poor animal! God is indeed merciful. But the culprit has to be punished.”

Sharing the same picture, young actress Alia Bhatt, who was last seen in ‘Shandaar’ movie posted, "This is beyond disgusting!!!How can we let this happen??Can we not even spare animals now?" Followed by her tweet, “Animals don’t have a voice! We have to be their voice. We can by no means tolerate this!!!# Dehradun it’s tragic and really shameful.”

Evergreen actor Rishi Kapoor also tweeted, “Appropriate action should be taken against that MLA for doing this. Appalled to see this act of barbarism. Shameful!”
