Azam Khan is the ringleader of terrorists: Ram Vilas Vedanti

Lucknow: Ram Janmabhoomi Executive Chairman Dr Ram Vilas Vedanti, in another controversial remark, described senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan as 'ringleader of terrorists'.

"During the previous Samajwadi Party (SP) regime, Azam Khan provided financial help to the terrorists. The government should conduct a CBI enquiry into the matter to expose the former UP minister," said Vedanti, who is a BJP MP from Pratapgarh constituency.

Taking a dig at the stone-pelting incidents in Kashmir, Vedanti suggested, "People who throw stones at soldiers should be shot dead. I will appeal to the government to formulate a law to protect our jawans from such traitors."

Accusing some of the army personnel of working in hands with terrorists, Vedanti opined that the government should only post Hindu soldiers in the violence-hit Kashmir Valley.

"The lacklustre approach of the government is responsible for the high morale of the terrorists. Some of the officials of security forces in Kashmir are helping the terrorists in Kashmir, which is the reason behind the successful execution of Amarnath-like terror attacks in the region. I would appeal the government to only post Hindu soldiers in the region to ensure safety of the country," he said.

On being questioned about Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi's meeting with Chinese envoy, he claimed, "The Congress scion is helping China and Pakistan in their missions against India."

Speaking over the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Vedanti said, "The Ram Mandir construction will begin in December 2018." Pointing out the reason behind the same, he claimed, "Several states will go for polls in 2018 which would ensure BJP's majority in the Rajya Sabha. Then we will roll out a law to construct the long-awaited temple."
