Bike borne assailants attack RSS leader Jagdish Gagnega, critical

Jalandhar: Bike borne assailants on Saturday night sprayed bullets on senior Rashtriya Swayam Sevaksangh (RSS) leader Jagdish Gagnega, police said.

According to an eye witness, Gagneja was travelling in his car along with the family and they were attacked by the criminals at around 2100 hours near Jyoti Chowk area of Jalandhar district in Punjab, they added.

The incident:

• Jagdish was rushed to the hospital.
• His condition is stated to be very critical.
• Three bullets struck him.
• The police have formed a special investigation team to probe the attack.
• Police have launched the manhunt to nab the accused.
• Punjab Congress Committee President Amarinder Singh had condemned the attack.
