Gautam Budh Nagar: A petition has been filed by a family member of Dadri lynching victim, Mohammad Akhlaq, in the district court demanding a probe into quantity of flesh samples as contradictory versions have been given about it.

Bishada circle officer (SO) Aunrag Singh, who is probing the case, said that quantity of flesh could be known after weighing it, the police had not weighed the flesh but estimated it about two kilograms while veterinary doctors have weighted the flesh which was about four kilograms.

In the application objection has been raised on the report of Mathura forensic laboratory and demand to make Sanjay Rana, Ompal and Kanchi Thekedar party in the case made as they know the names of people who were involved in the lynching.

The court has fixed August 1 as the date for hearing the case.

A forensic team is likely to visit Bishada village to inspect the spot and they can also seize samples from the house of deceased Mohammad Akhlaq. On the other hand Yusuf Saifi, the counsel of victim’s family has alleged that report of Mathura forensic laboratory was fake as the veterinary doctors claimed that it was not ‘beef’ but ‘mutton’ while the report of Mathura forensic lab claimed that it was beef and the quantity mentioned in both the reports was different.

Earlier, the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court had ordered for filing of an FIR against the family of Mohammad Akhlaq under the ‘cow slaughter’ act.
