JIO Effect: Airtel announces free 4G data pack for 90 days

New Delhi: In an effort to compete its rival Reliance Jio, the Indian telecom firm Bharti Airtel has launched a 90 days 'free' data plan with a 'price tag' of Rs. 1,494. The plan will be only for 4G users.

It will cost Rs. 1,494 for the existing users while new customers will have to pay Rs. 1,495 to enjoy the services.

The company will provide 30GB 4G data at Rs. 1,495 for the period of three months.

Ajai Puri, Director - Operations (India & South Asia), Bharti Airtel said, "Customers with 4G handsets generally consume large amounts of data and this proposition is specifically aimed at them."

On the other hand, here’s what Reliance Jio is providing:

  • Jio preview offer provides unlimited HD voice calls and video calls
  • It also includes unlimited SMS, unlimited high-speed data
  • Other services include various Jio Premium apps such as JioPlay, JioOnDemand, JioBeats, JioMags, JioXpressNews, JioDrive, JioSecurity and JioMoney.
