Gorakhpur: Eastern Uttar Pradesh city of Gorakhpur, the epicentre of encephalitis deaths of children over the years, has been witnessing 'satyagrah' movement started by 'AIIMS Lao Sangharsh Samiti' (Gorakhpur needs AIIMS) for the last few weeks. The association and children of the city paid homage, on Saturday, to those children who died due to 'encephalitis'.

The protest for building the AIIMS in the city has gained momentum in the region and several associations have joined movement in favour of the cause.

'Sangharsh Samiti' President Rana Rahul Singh said that Central and State Government were not keen to build the medical institute in the city. “If the city had the proper medical facilities, the children would not have died of this deadly severe disease,” he said.
