Agra: Heavy rain lashed many parts of the city of Taj bringing most of the activities to a halt and flooding major rivers including the Jamuna.

The river was flowing above the danger level.

According to the weather reports, Agra has received 535.6 mm rainfall so far which can rise to 600 mm by the end of July.

The weather men also forecast heavy rains on Thursday in Western Uttar Pradesh including Agra.

The rainfall recorded on Wednesday in different parts of the country is as follows:

  1. Agra-74.6mm.
  2. Jammu (Katra)-5cm
  3. Delhi, Srinagar and Bhadrawah-4cm.

CHANGE IN TEMPERATURE DUE TO RAINFALL:

  • However, the rainfall has brought relief to Agraiites . A fall in temperature by 4 degree, has been recorded. This is the first time that the maximum temperature and minimum temperature have been recorded between 28-29 degrees.

  • The present situation in Agra was similar to the one in the year 1966, when the city faced heavy rainfall ,creating havoc .
