AAP activist commits suicide after release of molester on bail
New Delhi: A woman activist of Aam Aadmi Party committed suicide in Narela area of Outer Delhi on Wednesday morning with her family members as her alleged molester, a party colleague, Ramesh Wadhwa was released on Bail.
According to police, She consumed a poisonous substance at her home in Narela and died during treatment at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital.
According to police,
- The complaint was filed against party colleague for touching her inappropriately and case of Molestation was also registered in June.
- She went into depression after the accused was released on bail.
Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay alleged," Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and MLA Sharad Chauhan are responsible for her death. AAP leaders had ignored her harassment" complaint.It may be recalled this girl had been raising issue of her harassment for months but AAP leaders ignored. This incident has established anti-women character of AAP."
In response to the allegations, the AAP spokesperson, Deepak Bajpai said," There is no mention of the MLAs name in any of the complaints. whosoever is alleged to have harrased girl has no connection with the party. The BJP should not stop this low and play politics over death of a poor girl. We also want action against culprit."
