4 Must-read Books Basketball Star Mohamed Hassan A Mohamed AKA Mizo Amin Recommends

Reading is one of the best daily habits practiced by the best achievers we aspire to become like in this life. It is an effective method that sharpens oneself, especially, if the genre of choice is ‘self-improvement’ and ‘non-fiction’. Reading those two genres are great for broadening your horizon as they can open your perspective and boost your creativeness.

“A Leader is a Reader, that’s why I recommend these books I’ve read, specifically, because they make you think better and actively work on changing your life,” said Mizo Amin, basketball star and the business owner of Punchy Store in Doha. “The books in this list will truly help you change your lives, as they are not your typical motivational, run-of-the-mill self-help reads. They have changed mine for sure.”

The 48 Laws of Power – Robert Greene

Contrary to the reviews you often get about this book. Amin does not agree with the terms “amoral, cunning, and ruthless” which appear on good-reads page. If anything, Amin thinks that this book helps you understand the types of people you may meet in life. “Most of these people, aren’t going to be nice to you,” Amin noted. “So might as well study the counter attack before launching it.” Amin recommends this book for readers who want to become rich and successful, but at the same time does not mind using a little deception and dirty tactics along the way. “This book has a lot of valuable information. But you must put your emotions aside and read it from a practical perspective,” Amin said.

Amin’s favorite quote from the book is: “Do not leave your reputation to chance or gossip; it is your life’s artwork, and you must craft it, hone it, and display it with care of an artist”.

The Millionaire Next Door – Thomas J. Stanley & William D. Danko

Many personal finance books claim to reveal to the reader the secrets of becoming rich, but a few books actually do. “Unlike those books, this book will actually, help you get rich slowly, but definitely,” Amin said. “Did you know that only 20% of millionaires are retired and 50% own businesses?” Amin said. He also shared that he learned many thinks like, “allocating time, energy, money and space efficiently.” At the end, the book gives an insight on the importance of financial independency to a person.

Amin’s favorite quote from the book is: “Wealth is more often the result of a lifestyle of hard work, perseverance, planning, and, most of all, self-discipline”.

Live Rich: an 18-Step Guide to a Rewarding Lifestyle – Barry Kaye & Rhonda Morstein

The authors of this book have a series of books on living and dying rich. The goal of this reading is to create your own wealth and be able to preserve and optimize it. “This book is pretty obvious in retrospect,” Amin comments. “ However, this self-help read helped me organize my hectic schedule as an athlete, and build a routine that enables me to live my life to the fullest.”

Amin has no favorite quotes from this book, yet he insists that it is a great read.

The Science Of Getting Rich – Wallace D Wattles

This book is an old book yet it is still very valuable as Amin Commented “ Wonderful book this is an absolute must read, must have book. This book is so old it’s pretty much how some people based heir books like The Secret – by Rhonda Byrne & other authors who spoke about the law of attraction up on.”
