X removes golden and blue ticks from several accounts after seeing flag as a display picture

Recently Prime Minister Narendra Modi had appealed to the citizens to put the Tricolour as their display picture till 15th August, on the occasion of Independence Day under the #HarGharTrinaga mission.
And many users had changed their dp on different social media platforms like X, WhatsApp, Facebook etc. But Elon Musk, owner of the X perhaps didn’t like it. He removed blue and golden ticks from several user's account.

In this list, X has removed the golden tick from the accounts of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and BCCI.

But surprisingly, X did not remove the grey tick from Narendra Modi's official account.

According to some media reports, X has recently made a strategy for the different kind of check marks on various accounts to prevent them from scamming and hacking.

According to this policy, if a user changes his profile picture or name, then the verification of his account including blue and golden tick will be terminated. However, the user will get his verification three hours later when the review gets complete.

But if he changes his profile picture or name during the review period then the account may suspend permanently.

Modi's account has grey checkmark so it may possible that this strategy doesn't apply on this. But there is not any official information about this now.

Know the meaning of different kinds of checkmarks-

Blue Label/checkmark- Only two types of people can get the blue tick on Twitter. First, who has the X's subscription for blue tick and second, who has more than one million followers on their account.

Golden checkmark- This checkmark indicates that the account owner is either officer or a business person.

Gery checkmark- This checkmark indicates that this is a government official account. The grey checkmark gets by the national-level agencies. Apart from this, this checkmark is also given to the head of state, foreign official spokesperson, top diplomatic leader, cabinet members (national level), institutional accounts, top official and official spokespersons.
