WhatsApp Video Call: Beware of malicious invite links!

New Delhi: Don't get lured to invites regarding the WhatsApp video calling feature as you may end up hampering the privacy of your smartphone by clicking on any such malicious links!!!

Instant messaging giant WhatsApp has launched its video calling feature earlier this week and cyber spammers have turned active since then. Smartphone users are bombarded with links which persuade them to update the old version of WhatsApp to new consisting of the video calling feature.

But it may be mentioned that no such links have been floated by the Facebook owned app as the only way to get it updated is through Google play store or Apple store.

By clicking on the link, users land on to a malicious url which is harmful for the smartphone.

WhatsApp has not introduced any link invitation process for updating the old version and users may get it by simply updating WhatsApp on their smartphone via respective app store.
