Samsung reclaims top spot in Q1 smartphone market

New Delhi: Even before the launch of its flagship smartphone Galaxy S8, Samsung Electronics has topped the list in global smartphone market.

After Samsung, Apple has managed to reach the second spot with 14.9 per cent share. Samsung has a market share of 22.8 per cent.

Earlier, Apple was the top player during October-December period of 2016.

It may be mentioned here that Samsung had faced a backlash following the suspension of Galaxy Note 7 phablet. Despite the suspension of one of its top model, Samsung took 18.5 per cent of the market in the fourth quarter of 2016.

The production of Galaxy Note 7 Phablet was stopped after the suspension.
