Lucknow: The year 2020 has just approached and one of the leading smartphone brands, OnePlus is already set to make an appearance at this year’s CES in Las Vegas within a week’s time.

While the CES presentation will primarily be about the OnePlus Concept One smartphone, the OnePlus 8 is what will attract the mob's interest.

OnePlus already released a more premium Pro version in 2019 alongside the regular version but in 2020, OnePlus is looking to appeal to the more affordable segments while it ups its game in the ultra-premium segments. A OnePlus 8 Lite is supposed to be a new mid-range offering from the company and although the prices are still a mystery, OnePlus could aim for a sub-Rs 30,000 price segment.

The regular version is also getting an upgrade whereas the Pro version will play with the Samsungs and iPhones of the world.

Hence, 2020’s lineup is already looking exciting and if you are willing to upgrade to a new OnePlus next year, here’s a brief of everything we know about the upcoming OnePlus 8 series.

OnePlus 8 Lite: The true flagship killer?

This has got everyone talking and OnePlus could indeed be looking to make more money in 2020. The OnePlus 8 Lite is supposed to be a stripped-off version of the OnePlus 8 and it will most likely be similar to the OnePlus 7T. Rumours suggest that OnePlus could rely on a MediaTek Dimensity 1000 chipset with support for 5G networks to keep the costs low.

The 6.4-inch display will have a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera while the refresh rate will be set at 90Hz. At the back, there will be a set of triple cameras, consisting of a 48-megapixel main camera along with a 16-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera.

The OnePlus 8 in 2020 will be more akin to the OnePlus 7T Pro. It is supposed to get a 6.4-inch 1080p AMOLED display with curved edges and 90Hz refresh rate. This phone will get to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset which will be paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The phone will rely on a 4000mAh battery along with support for Warp Charge 30. The OnePlus 8 is also said to get a 60-megapixel camera along with a 20-megapixel and another 12-megapixel camera, completing a combination of triple cameras at the back. Chances are that the regular version could see a pricing upwards of Rs 40,000 this year.

OnePlus 8 Pro: The new alpha flagship?

The OnePlus 8 Pro is expected to go more upmarket than the outgoing models. This is the phone that will get the best of what OnePlus has to offer.

The Snapdragon 865 chip along with up to 12GB of RAM is common but what’s new is the possibility of a 6.7-inches 120Hz Quad HD+ display with curved edges. Additionally, the OnePlus 8 Pro will come with a dual front camera setup hosting a regular selfie camera and a ToF sensor for additional 3D facial recognition systems.

At the back, there is a 64-megapixel main camera, a 20-megapixel ultra-wide and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera accompanied by a ToF sensor. The battery is also expected to get bigger at 4500mAh with support for 50W fast charging system. The Pro variant will most likely be fighting it out with the iPhone 11 and Samsung Galaxy S11.

Well this smartphone will be a boom for the one plus productivity or not is still a question!
