Riding into the Future: Top 5 Bikes to Buy in 2024

Bikes and cars often face difficulties in starting during winters. Bikes have to be taken care of in the cold, otherwise, they can bother you. In winter, the engine of bikes cools down quickly, causing a lot of difficulties while starting them. We've come up with some tips for you to take care of bikes in winter so that you don't have to face such problems.

Avoid parking bikes in the open

Avoid parking your bike under the open sky in the winter season. Standing in the cold for a long time cools the engine oil, causing problems in starting the bike. Always park the bike under the roof or in a closed place where the cold is low. If it is your compulsion to park outside, cover the bike with a cover, which will not cool the engine oil much.

Take care of the battery

The battery of the bike is the worst affected by winter. The batteries run out quickly due to low temperatures. This causes difficulty in starting the bike. In such a situation, you will need to charge the bike battery frequently to avoid this problem. To avoid this, you can use a sealed dry battery because they do not need maintenance.

Kick Start and Clean Spark Plug

In the winter, start the bike with a kick start at least once, which puts less strain on the battery. However, many modern motorcycles do not have a kick start, thus they must start through the self-start option. Spark plugs deteriorate fast in the cold. In this case, regular cleaning of the bike's spark plug is required. Maintain the bike's service schedule as well.

Change Engine Oil on Time

The engine of the bike also has to be taken care of in winter. Replace the old oil on time. Always use good quality oil so that it does not adversely affect the engine. The cold also causes the radiator's water to freeze. Use anti-freeze coolant. It is easily available in the market. Start the bike and accelerate slowly and then start your journey.

Chain lubrication and tyre pressure

Chain is a very important part of bikes. It is important to take care of the bike rides so you enjoy them with the help of chains. The lubrication of the chain should be done from time to time so that they do not spoil quickly. The drop in temperature in winter can lead to a drop in tyre pressure. Every time you take your bike out on the road, you should check the tyre. Replace the tyre if needed.
