Facebook New Feature; Now there is a Fake News Alert for you!

New Delhi: Many social media companies are trying their level best to check fake news. From time to time, tech companies introduce new tools that are used to fight fake news, but there is no shortage of fake news on social media.

In this episode, Facebook has now released a new update which will alert you in advance about such Facebook page, on which page is often shared fake news.

Fake News Alert by Facebook:

Facebook has said in its blog that if you have liked or are about to like a page and fake news is being shared continuously from that page, then Facebook will give you information through a popup notification.

The notification will have repeatedly shared false information written in it. After this you will get two options which include go back and follow page anyway.

Fact check feature:

Along with the notifications, you will also see an option to learn more, by clicking on it, you will be able to know about the page and fake news in detail. Facebook has also said that it is going to put penalties on such Facebook page which are constantly sharing fake posts and news.

Fact checker article will also appear in the popup notification. Apart from this, Facebook will also reduce the reach of posts being shared from such a page and such posts will rarely be seen in the news feed. Facebook has introduced several tools to fight fake news, including forward message labels, fact checks, etc. in Messenger. Due to fake news, Facebook has banned former US President Donald Trump forever.
