Facebook is always adding new features to improve the overall user experience and make it more visually appealing. Now, in collaboration with premium eyewear manufacturer Ray-Ban, the business is taking things a step further by offering its smart glasses (Facebook Smart Glasses) for purchase. When asked about the business's next hardware product, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the company is completely prepared to unveil a smart glass during the company's second-quarter earnings call in 2021. This high-tech device is the result of a collaboration between Facebook and Ray-Ban.

Besides having a traditional Ray-Ban frame, for which the brand is well-known, the Smart Glasses will also include incorporated augmented reality capabilities with stunning visuals. Facebook has taken a giant stride forward in the future with the introduction of this great product. Ray-Bun also posted a banner with the phrase "09.09.2021" on his social media accounts after Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook VP of AR and VR Andrew Bosworth released a unique preview of smart glasses on their official Twitter accounts. The smart glasses are expected to be released on September 9, 2021, according to reports.

Specifications of Facebook Smart Glasses

According to CEO Mark Zuckerberg, many of the product's specifics have not yet been revealed to the public. It was disclosed that the smart glass would include an integrated display with a high resolution and a voice assistant, which is one of the features that will be included. Users will also be able to connect it with their smartphone if they so want.

Amazon Echo connection

Some believe that the smart glass snap provided by Facebook will function in the same way as the spectrum and the Amazon Echo. Facebook has not yet provided any more information on the product, but it is anticipated that all of the product's specific features will be announced by tomorrow. There has been no update for the pricing range of this gadget. They will also be able to reveal their technological specialization following the introduction of smart glasses. In addition to smart glasses, Facebook is said to be working on a smartwatch that will monitor heart rates and may even have a dual-camera system.

Metaverse and Horizon Workrooms

In addition to this latest launch, Facebook is also working on a new initiative named Metaverse. The metaverse is a-buzz. An online shared environment where physical, augmented, and virtual reality collide, as described in Neal Stephenson's 1992 sci-fi book Snow Crash. In January 2020, venture investor Matthew Ball published an important article defining a metaverse. It must span the real and virtual worlds, have a functioning economy, and have "unprecedented interoperability" – users must be able to move their avatars and products from one area of the metaverse to another, regardless of who controls it. The metaverse will be controlled by many different entities, not just one corporation, according to Zuckerberg.

Zuckerberg claims that the metaverse will also benefit those who wish to work and live outside of today's metropolitan centers, as well as those who reside in areas with inadequate educational or recreational options. He claims a realized metaverse is the next best thing to a functioning teleportation technology. Facebook is attempting to create one with its Oculus subsidiary, which makes the Quest headgear.

Horizon Workrooms is a new destination for Oculus Avatars. The Oculus Quest 2 is a new method for individuals to interact at work, according to Facebook. Users may exchange files and brainstorm on endless whiteboards. They may speak to colleagues in the virtual room or through video calls.

In addition to spatial audio, Workrooms utilizes mixed-reality desk and keyboard tracking as well as hand tracking. It's the first time these technologies have been integrated to create a new productivity experience, says Facebook. There is an app for the Oculus Quest 2. 16 virtual rooms may be joined via video call. Video participants appear on a screen similar to a video call.
