Messaging app Telegram has recently come up with new features like live text support and media captions. The messaging app is now working on several new features, including emoji reactions and cryptocurrency payments. With the Emoji Reactions feature, users will be able to respond to messages with emoji syllables by long-tapping them. On the other hand, cryptocurrencies will soon be used to pay subscription fees and donations.

Emoji reactions feature revealed in Reddit post

Users in a Reddit post explained the emoji reactions feature being tested in the beta version of the Telegram app. In the beta version of the messaging app, testers can respond to messages in groups and channels with the help of different emojis. Telegram messages or posts are being offered the option to react with the help of 11 emojis, including thumb ups, thumbs down, red heart, fire, party poppers, and star-struck faces.

Emoji reactions to look like small animations

It has come to light that these emoji reactions will make users look like small moving animations. Users in Telegram channels or groups will see who reacted to it and what they have reacted to as soon as they click on the message. Admins will have the option to enable or disable emoji reactions feature in groups. In addition, admins will also be able to give selected options of reaction emojis to members and they will get full control over this feature.

Cryptocurrency will also have a payment feature

The Telegram Open Network (TON) community reported in its blog post that users will soon get the option to give donations and take subscriptions with the help of cryptocurrencies. This cryptocurrency will be named Ton coin. All channel admins will also be able to earn their earnings in the same cryptocurrency. Telegram CEO and co-founder Parel Durov had recently reported that its TON is in the blockchain technology development phase. He has claimed TON blockchain is better than the rest in space.

India has the largest telegram users according to data shared by Censor Tower; India remains the largest internet market for Telegram. About 22 percent of Telegram's lifetime installs have been made by Indian users. The app has also been installed most frequently in Russia and Indonesia after India, which have 10 percent and 8 percent share in order. The Telegram app is available on all platforms and also offers end-to-end encryption for privacy.

Telegram is competing with WhatsApp

Telegram messaging service is not as popular as WhatsApp in India but some of the features it features make it better. Telegram groups and channels can include thousands of participants and have proved to be extremely useful for everything from gaming to study groups. Of course, there may be a big difference in the userbase but Telegram directly hits WhatsApp and is wooing new users with the promise of better privacy.

The Telegram app has set a new record this year and has been downloaded more than a billion times Google Play Store from the Google Play Store. This cross-platform messaging app works on both desktop and mobile devices.
