Messaging platform WhatsApp Users get the option of WhatsApp web to use on a big screen. This option is especially useful for those doing 'Work from Home' and using business apps. WhatsApp Web currently works as a simple version of the mobile app and offers limited settings and functions. However, new changes are now being made a part of it and better privacy options have been included.

Privacy features on WhatsApp Web

The latest leak has revealed that users will soon be able to change some privacy options with the help of WhatsApp web. It has come to light that user will be able to change WhatsApp web last seen and profile photos etc. WABetaInfo said the new features are currently being tested only in beta versions. So far, these features have been available only in the mobile app version.

New privacy settings

"WhatsApp has become independent on the phone with multi-devices, i.e., it is not necessary to keep phones and desktops connected to the Internet together," the WABetaInfo report said. That's why users will be given more options on the big screen and users can now change the privacy of last seen, profile photos, about info and read receipts directly from the web app. It is only through web apps that users can block or manage contacts.

Currently in the Beta testing phase

The features associated with WhatsApp Web are currently in the development phase and will be made part of stable updates after beta testing. Now the option to change privacy settings is available only in Android and iOS mobile apps. However, the company has launched multi-device support and users can include WhatsApp desktop or WhatsApp web in linked devices.

4 device support for WhatsApp

WhatsApp users are currently being offered the option of WhatsApp login in desktop apps, web browsers and Facebook portals in addition to primary smartphones. The company has released this beta feature for users, which has been included in the Linked Devices section. With this, users can login to up to four devices simultaneously but they do not include another Android or a smartphone working on iOS platform.

Multi-device 2.0

Recently, it was revealed that WhatsApp is conducting an update test on its existing multi-device feature. With this multi-device 2.0 update, WhatsApp will also try to support Android and iOS devices with the feature. This means that WhatsApp users will be able to login to secondary Android or iOS devices other than one primary smartphone. A screenshot of the new feature has also surfaced showing a 'Downloading WhatsApp message' written on the mobile device.
